Brandy snaps

So every week I have decided to bake something new that never tried before but wanted to give a go- and since baking the castle cake it has inspired me to bake more and even has given me an idea of the possibility of selling sweets at fairs instead of the original plan of knitting (as takes ages to knit one thing and can only sell in winter) so will research into sweet selling but in the meantime my first bake were BRANDY SNAPS :P

I found the process slow in general as have to bake 4 at a time and can only do one batch at a time as soon as get them out the oven you need to be quick at rolling them or they will harden- but after the 3rd batch I got quicker at rolling :)

So here are some pics of the brandy snaps and the recipe if you want to give them a go!

 1) Weigh 50g of butter, flour, brown sugar, teaspoon of golden syrup. heat the sugar, butter and syrup at a low setting till sugar has dissolved (about 10mins)

 2) If scrap bottom with wooden spoon wont hear a grating sound- then take off heat for 3 mins then mix flour into it.

 3) Onto a greaseproof paper- drop a teaspoon size of mixture- if hardened can roll into a ball and then press down with fingers till flat.

 4) Leave in oven for 10 mins

 5) With a knife take one off at a time and transfer onto the end of a oiled wooden spoon handle and roll (lattice inside) and press down.

Enjoy!
